The Cut Dance Studio Appeal

THE CUT DANCE STUDIO
The Cut provides its community a full range of dance and fitness classes for people of all ages and abilities to engage with each other and enjoy a positive effect on their mental and physical health and wellbeing on a purpose built Harlequin sprung floor, the only such facility in a 25 mile radius. The Cut Dance Studio is a unique place where you can explore Freeform, Ballet, Tapdancing and Belly Dancing. There are classes in Pilates, Yoga and Qi Gong. It also has adapted use for Ink’s annual festival of original short plays and the biennal Summer Project residency benefitting 10,000 annual users.
BUT THE CUT DANCE STUDIO IS UNDER THREAT
The skylight overlooking the Dance Studio leaks and is no longer fit for purpose and a replacement is urgently needed before irreparable damage is caused. The cost will be £25,000. The new skylight will not only be a permanent protection from the weather but will also improve the energy efficiency of The Cut. We have launched a fundraising campaign and would ask you to help with any amount, small or large, to help us preserve what is an essential part of your community arts centres activities. The planning consent is in place, the builders are ready to go – with your help we can get the job done!
