Accessibility
The Cut is committed to providing access as widely as possible to our local community. The following measures are to support those who wish to access our facilities.
Access
There is a platform lift to transport you to the concourse and from there into the theatre. From the concourse there is a lift to the WC in the basement, to the dance studio and to the 2nd floor.
In the theatre the front row consists of removable seats that can be taken out for wheelchair users as needed.
Hearing enhancements
An induction loop is fitted within the auditorium. A portable loop for meeting rooms is available.
If a particular event is not advertised as accessible, but you wish to find out whether the performance might be suitable for someone with additional needs of any kind, please contact us for further information.
Building access
The building is accessible in all public areas and on stage to people using wheelchairs and those with mobility difficulties. There are three wheelchair accessible spaces in the auditorium, reached using a platform stairlift. The stairlift is able to carry a max weight of 230kgs (36 stone). The platform is 1.25m long by 0.90m wide (slightly less when the safety arms are lowered). This unfortunately means we are unable to accommodate guests using some types of heavy electric wheelchairs so please contact box office before booking if you think you might exceed the limit. There are also two end seats in the main seating area for people who are able to transfer from collapsible aids.
Toilets
There are two disabled toilets in the building, one accessible by lift and another via the rear entrance.
